Human at Sight
„Human At Sight“ is a conceptual album bearing an altruistic view of life segmented into ten songs, each representing one stage of one's life.
The imaginary character was created to be a protagonist of the story depicting the struggles of life and showing through his example how one can emerge victorious from tests or succumb to them. Even though the storyline covers an immense amount of symbolic layers and hidden meaning, most of it is left for the listener/observer to discover and therefore find the milestones of philosophy hidden in the lines of the lyrics.
All the music and lyrics were created by Hetrem besides the following ones:
- „The Destruction Of Sennacherib“ was written by Lord George Gordon Byron, first published in 1815. In his „Hebrew Melodies“.
- „Now who can save us / Iron we fetch – chains that enslave us / To move the hour is not yet / So we submit and wait“ is a quote from Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's „Faust“ translated from German by Hetrem because the rhythm of the English translation was not suitable for the song „The Betrayal“. („The Second Part of the Tragedy, Act 1)
- „For we brought nothing into this world and we can't carry nothing out“ - „1 Timothy 6:7“ Bible.
- „Where do you wander oh Lady of the Cinders“ was rearranged in „Visions of Asmodai“ and is a children's nursery rhyme taken from „Thief: The Deadly Shadows“
- The intro to „Shadow of Death“ was created by Sebastian Komor who gave us the rights to use it.
- The intro to „Requiem“ is a part of a rendition of the famous 13th century Latin Gregorian Chant „Dies Irae“ and can be found on a 1994. CD. „Ego sum Ressurectio“. The rights for this sound piece were given (for free) to Hetrem by Naxos Deutschland Musik & Video Vertriebs GbmH only for the first 300 pieces.
All of the above mentioned parts belong to their respective authors and Hetrem never intended to use it for any means but for the amplification of musical and lyrical feeling! Furthermore, if any of the parts were not mentioned it was not done intentionally and they only contain small parts derived from other works that influenced Hetrem.
